Barnes to leave CWTA
June 18, 2008 - 11:54am Peter Barnes, president and CEO of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA), will leave the wireless industry association at the end of this month to join Tactix Government Consulting as principal. Barnes took over the leadership at the CWTA in the late 1990s, replacing Roger Poirier, and has led the organization during the emergence of new competitors Microcell Telecommunications and Clearnet as real forces in the wireless sector. He also presided over many spectrum management-related consultations while at the helm of the wireless industry lobby group.
