Virgin Mobile Canada unveils post-paid plans
February 14, 2008 - 10:34am After months of anticipation regarding how Virgin Mobile Canada was going to approach the post-paid wireless market, the company unveiled its new pricing plans this morning. One of the more interesting pricing innovations from Virgin Canada is its myTime packages, which allow the user to pick the time when their unlimited calling clock begins. This unlimited calling clock runs for a six-hour period and is priced at $45 per month which gives an additional 400 anytime minutes, and $60 per month with 600 anytime minutes. For those with less than unlimited needs can get 1,000 minutes for as little as $25 per month, which includes an extra 100 anytime minutes. With data services becoming much more important, Virgin Canada is also addressing that in a simple way. Unlimited mobile browsing is available for $7 per month and 2500 text messages is $10 per month. The two can be combined for $15 per month. Sticking with its "no confusing additional fees" strategy, the company has decided not to introduce a system access fee (SAF) as the other wireless carriers have. As well, Virgin Canada will not charge an activation fee to subscribers signing up for service. |
