Speech recognition? Rogers that
May 16, 2007 - 8:28am Customers of Rogers Wireless will be able to dictate instructions to their handheld devices, now that the Toronto service provider has signed up for Nuance Communications Inc.'s Voice Control software. According to Nuance, the program provides voice-activated search and messaging services. Say "Find business, overnight shipping near Montreal," and the system will work with the handheld's Web browser for an appropriate response. Say "Email Karen Smith, subject: budget meeting; body; the time has been changed," and the system invokes the device's email client. The service is priced at $6 per month. |
