Primus Canada is adding smartphones and new data plans to existing wireless offerings, and the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association says Canadians sent over 12.1 billion texts in Q1 2010.

Primus, known for low-cost landline services, has put its wireless spectrum and roaming agreements to good use:  it can now provide 94% of Canadians with enhanced voice, text and data packages.

The expanded offering provides Primus Canada mobile customers with a range of handsets including the HTC Magic+ and Nokia 6790 smartphones. Both are available to Canadians through Primus Canada's 'More Talk and Surf' plans, which range from $50-$55 per month. Primus Canada has also added new 'More Talk and Text' plans, which start at $15 per month.
