Mitel lands French enterprise VoIP deal
April 22, 2010 - 12:18pm Ottawa-headquartered Mitel Networks Corp’s unified communications technology has been chosen by French firm Bouygues Construction to connect 52,600 associates in more than 80 countries. Mitel, which is expected to be listed on the Nasdaq before the end of the month – said STRUCTIS, the informatics management arm of Bouygues, is using integrator Exprimm’iT to deploy VoIP phones and supporting software. At present, Bouygues is simultaneously managing some 1,500 remote temporary sites with an average lifespan of 18 months. The construction company, which is headquartered in Guyancourt, France, said it required a solution that would allow it to quickly reprogram and reinstall communications at another location once one work site is closed.
Mitel noted that more than 100 of Bouygues’s group sites – including its headquarters – are now equipped with Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platforms, representing nearly 12,000 Internet protocol-based phones by the end of 2010. |
