Cloud-based enterprise software hosting company Velocity Technology Solutions, Inc. has announced that it has expanded its hosting services into Canada through an agreement with Primus Telecommunications Canada, Inc.

This partnership means that Canadian businesses can access the Velocity On-Demand cloud-based technology services while ensuring that their data and software applications remain within Canadian borders.

This is of specific value to financial services and healthcare organizations than need to keep their data within specific political jurisdictions, whether federal or provincial. It also keep application management and consulting services closer to home.

Referencing these issues, Velocity Chief Executive Officer, Tom Bruno, said “The addition of this datacenter provides peace-of-mind to our Canadian businesses as well as full compliance with Canadian laws and regulations."

Velocity first established its Canadian presence with its acquisition of RJ Thompson Data Services, a technology consulting business located in London, Ontario. Velocity is headquartered in New York City, and also has offices in Minneapolis and Tampa.

According to Bruno, Velocity customers benefit from lower total costs of operating Lawson Software, and added value in their ERP investments with the support of interfaced applications, such as Kronos.

"We eliminate the burdens and concern s related to maintaining and upgrading software releases and we supply our customers with round-the-clock support provided by highly-skilled, locally based personnel," Bruno said.
