Calgary’s  Axia NetMedia Corporation has announced that the Provincial Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has cancelled its current Request for Proposals (RFP) to build and manage an advanced communications network.

Art Price, Chairman and CEO commented, "We understand the Provincial Government's desire to revisit their policy objectives and communication needs that were articulated when this RFP was issued in late 2007."

Murray Sigler, President Axia Canada added, "We look forward to working with the Provincial Government as they explore options that will allow them to meet their requirements for a government network and connectivity to all regions of the province."
