Canadians send 100 million text messages a day

In the first nine months of 2009, Canadians sent more than 24.7 billion person-to-person text messages, according to the CWTA.. In September alone, messages totalled almost 3 billion, or approximately 100 million per day. In addition to person-to-person text messages, the number of Short Code messages sent and received in the third quarter numbered more than 443 million, bringing the total number of Short Code messages sent and received to more than 1.1 billion in the first nine months of this year.
